Our Plans
During the 2009-2010 school year we will offer grades PreK-10 with most of the teaching done by parent volunteers. Teacher volunteers are carefully screened, given a full background check, and are given training and guidance in order to help them be competent in their teaching. Our teacher volunteers have proven to be highly competent in their fields, and the students have responded well and demonstrated high academic achievement under them.
Some of the critera that we look at as being most important are that they evidence a knowledge of the gospel, a knowledge of what they teach, and a knowledge of teaching methods. We ask all Aletheia parents to invest their time in the school, whether it be as a teacher volunteer, or by helping in other ways.
Preschool is a recent addition to Aletheia. In 2010, our Pre-K class will be held from 9:00am to 12:00 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and will focus on pre-reading and math skills, as well as art, music, Bible, and play. This class will be primarily for 4-year-olds who are going to be attending kindergarten at Aletheia the following year. If there is a need, we may also have classes for 3-year-olds, as well. Preschool classes will be offered free of charge to all of our teaching parents.
2009 has been a year of very rapid growth for Aletheia, and we do have some classes that are at capacity. Some classes are already full for the 2010-11 school year, and we encourage interested parents to consider enrolling early to ensure that their child will have a spot secured.
Aletheia will continue to expand one grade per year, and graduate its first high school class in May of 2012. Juniors and Seniors plan to utilize the resources of local community colleges, as well as take classes at Aletheia.
If you are interested in Aletheia, please contact the school and ask the headmaster to schedule a school visit. We also have occasional programs, dinners, and school assemblies. As a 501(c)3 organization, we are always working toward developing relationships with individuals and corporations who share our vision for classical education.
